DORNIER Do 17-Z. Pilots of 10/KG3 (later 15 Kroat/KG53) just before take off to a mission under command of Lt Jordanic. After being shot by Russian flak, they force-landed, but returned to the unit a day later, on New Year's Day 1942. |
MESSERSCHMITT Bf 109-G6. Josip Jelacic, pilot of 15 (Kroaten Staffel) /JG52 flying Me 109 G-6, brings down MIG 5, eastern front, autumn 1943. He joined the front in summer 1943,at Bagerovo(Crimea)and ended the war with three confirmed victories.Today he lives in Australia. Since no photographs of that aircraft are in existence, nor he remembers number on fuselage, painting was based on a photo of another G-6 of 15/JG 52 which had a white spinner and no markings on fuselage except yellow band, "balkenkreuz" and Croatian emblem under the cockpit. |
MESSERSCHMITT Bf 109 G-10, seen here in Croatian markings at a closing days of the war.Croatian Jagdstaffel was based at Eichwald and operating under the command ofJagdfliegerfuhrer Ostpreussen .In April 1945 some members of the unit flew to Northern Italy to surrender , among them black 4.Painting was based on a photo of black 10 (Me 109 G-14) flown by Fw. Cekovic taken in North Italy ,April 1945. Camouflage was RLM 82 and 83 on RLM 76 with RLM 04 on a nose and rudder. |
